Janet Firminger
Vice Chair & Travel Rep.
Janet started her employment in NATS on No. 24 ATCO Cadet Course followed by an operational posting to Gatwick Airport. She then enjoyed a varied career at Wick, Kirkwall, Cardiff and Glasgow Airports and subsequently at Scottish Centre and CAA House, London, when working on the New Scottish Centre project (eventually postponed and resurrected some years later as the New Prestwick Centre). Leaving the CAA in 2000, Janet joined Alenia Marconi Systems, initially a joint venture between BAE Systems and Finmeccanica of Italy, subsequently wholly owned by Finmeccanica, now Leonardo. Since leaving full time employment Janet has more time available for voluntary activities and responded to the call for new members of the RSA Central Committee. She is pleased to have been elected as the Travel Representative.
